About the dictionary. I want to point attention to Jan De Vries - Altnordisches etymologisches Wörterbuch
Which often shows the sheltandnorn and orkneynorn form of the old norse words he gives. So we actully got an old norse - norn wordlist.

Hrafn- Is there a pdf ocr scan available of Jan De Vries - Altnordisches etymologisches Wörterbuch
I would like to receive a copy if you have scanned it.
Hnolt- I will help in filling in the tables if you create them.

I don't think de Vries matters that much, because he took all his examples from Jakobsen and Marwick.

Since when has Marwick and Jakobsen become irrelevant? I think it is really nice to know the word in old norse, and then could look the old norse word up and find the norn word ^^

I would like to know how to say merry Christmas and happy new year in Nynorn
My suggestion is Guð jøl og guð Nyjår
Wed Dec 26, 2012 9:40 pm
This is how we translated it a few years ago:
Gledelig jøl og gott nyår! (Shet.)
Gleddelig jøl og gott nyår! (Ork.)
