Idioms in Nynorn

Sat Mar 31, 2012 10:50 pm

I happened to think about idioms in Nynorn. It would be interesting to translate them, as it's I guess an important part in any language. Some idioms I thought of :

-In the Kingdom of the Blind the One-eyed are Kings (also leads us to think about subsantivisation of adjectives)
-To separate the wheat from the chaff
-To rain one someone's parade
-To get away with murder

There are some idioms in Jakobsen's dictionary as well and I think we should also use such expressions from Orkney/Shetland dialects.
