I came across fatgud nm. butter and train-oil, paid as a tax to a feudal in the dictionary and thought about whether such a specific word would be useful today and wondered whether it could also be given the more generalised modern meaning of payment in kind?

If so has anyone else spotted any words whose meaning could theoreticaly be given a modern twist?
