I think such a work has to be publicated on paper to be more credible...
On the web, we can find a lot of stupidities, and people are aware about that. That's why a book about Nynorn would be a great way to make this project more popular than it is now.
Don't you think so ?

And do you have mailed Michael Barnes about this project ? It would great to have his opinion, just to know how elite and specialists react... But I think not so good... Barnes seems to think that a lot of norn texts are in fact in norwegian... (maybe he's right...)

Interesting question.. Yes of course we'd like to publish some of our stuff, but it won't happen in the nearest future. I don't have a contact with Michael Barnes, although I saw his email at the webpage of some university, but now this page is gone (does that mean he's retired?). But even if something will be published, it will be rather the Norn stuff (as opposed to Nynorn) and Nynorn some time later.

Norwegian has so many dialects that you can find there a close cognate to any Nordic language. But it would be good to know which texts Barnes refers here to.

Michael was my head of department at UCL for Scandinavian Studies from 88-92 so I suspect he is retired.

Interesting, thanks for sharing this. So I presume that he gave you a good teaching in Norn and Scandinavian linguistics?

This is my impression too.
