General talk on Orkney & Shetland Norn
Sat Sep 06, 2014 1:05 pm
I was reading this reportage from a man travelling around on the Orkneys when i stumbled upon something he claims to be a man speaking a mix of scots and norn. The man tried to tell him that The town he was In was names after Margrete, The maid of Norway.
Could any of you tell if there is norn in his sentences?
-say again sir?
-Aye, aar nagairscobble ou lagri Marra rreth edd?!

(Beklager for min dårlige norsk)

Kan det vera at 'nariau' tyder 'Ner you=when you'
