Norn and today's Shetland

This topic is for sharing thoughts and stories about Norn in today's Shetland and how it's perceived and thought of by the local people as well as living memories of Norn from the past.

Thanks for that. This was filmed in the 1980's and Rhoda passed away in 1994. Sore she is missed.

We now have a number of other poets but most write in Scots.

You dislike what Shetland Forwirds are doing or Shetland Scots in general?

Oops, so sorry for the late reply Embarassed .

I dislike both of them!. Shetland Scots is horrible and Shetlandforwirds don't want a standard form of spelling and think it's ok to spell norse words with english letters. They are just very, very strange.......

They remind me of someone who is looking at a painitng that my 4 year old nephew could paint and are thinking that it is "speaking to them" Rolling Eyes
