I don't know if anyone has brought this up before, but I was considering translating the Hildina Ballad into Nynorn. I found the text on the website () and its translations. Has anyone translated it into Nynorn? If not I'd be interested.

Also, are there any audio recordings of the song that are close to the actual ballad? I thought I found one on YouTube, but forgot how to find it because it was under a different title and was in a different language (possibly Norwegian). Was the ballad performed like a Faroese kvæði? I'd like to know more.

Yes, we were considering it, but I have to ask Ljun whether he has started translating it.

The ballad is only known from George Low's diary and most likely was totally forgotten by the late 1700's, so no audio recording could have been done. I remember having heard a Youtube performance by someone from Scandinavia, perhaps Sweden or Norway, and their spelling of several words was wrong, because they pronounced it according to the rules of their own language, which was ridiculous (f.ex. fy as [fü], which in fact had to be [fai]).
